One
of the three
standing missions of the Civil Air Patrol is
Aerospace Education. For both our own members and the
general public.
![]() In the early days of flying, airplanes were mysterious and intriguing things, that the public knew little about. Today millions of people fly around the world every day and much of the wonder of flying has been replaced by routine. What a testament to the important addition to our modern way of life air travel has been. Now it is the new frontier of space travel that has captured our imagination. With the Apollo landings on the moon and the Mars Rovers, Space is the new and exciting challenge for the future. If you like looking
up, then you can make your own
star finder.
Everyday we use the achievements of the space program and hardly realize it. When you watch the weather program you are seeing satellite images from orbiting space satellites. When you watch TV, many people get their programming delivered right from space through a satellite receiver dish. Now many cars come with GPS navigation systems that have become so user friendly they talk to you and give you turn by turn directions, navigating by a direct link to the orbiting satellites. The Civil Air Patrol endeavors
to educate the cadets who join
and the surrounding community,
in the ever changing field of
Aerospace.
Through training , seminars, school programs, air shows, and classes, we reach out to students young and old. Check out these exciting programs at your local CAP unit. ![]()
